"The Remover" Makeup Remover Cloth Review

This new product called "The Remover" claims to take off all of your makeup with just warm water. I read mixed reviews about this product so I felt like I definitely had to put it to the test. I went out and got one and I just have to say after using it for about 3 weeks, I have nothing but amazing words about it.

The instructions say to wash and dry the cloth before use. After you do that, you simply run it under warm water and start to remove your makeup with the warm cloth.

I was definitely a bit skeptical going into this thinking how could one cloth and just water take off all my makeup. So, I waited to try it out for the first time until I had on a full face of makeup to give it a true test. Amazingly, as you can see in the pictures above, this one cloth took off every bit of makeup I had on my face. It took about 3-5 minutes to get all of it off. I was so amazed. The most time consuming thing to wash off is mascara but it's worth it. The cloth is so gentle and doesn't tug or hurt your skin at all. The shape of the cloth is very cool as well! Because it is a long oval, it's really good for rubbing your entire face at once, if that makes sense. I wash my cloth about once a week because I only use this cloth on the days I wear makeup (about 4 days a week). I HIGHLY recommend this cloth if you're like me and absolutely despise taking off makeup at night. It makes the job enjoyable!

Liquid Foundation vs. Powder Foundation

I consider myself to be the type of girl that enjoys wearing makeup on most days of the week! I like to wake up early, have time to myself and sit at my vanity to put my makeup on for the day. With my senior year of high school beginning soon, I wanted to get as much sleep as I could and didn't want to have to wake up an hour earlier to do my makeup, but, I also wanted my face to look as though I had makeup on. So, I was kind of in a predicament deciding whether I should wake up earlier to get the look I wanted or to just go without makeup on. Well, I found a solution!

I've always watched tutorials and videos of others using something called "powder foundation" but I had never tried it myself! I always liked the way my skin looked when I used liquid foundation. But, with school creeping around the corner, I figured it was time to try something new that could speed up my makeup application in the mornings! Powder foundation was definitely the way to go. I compared the two types of foundations, liquid and powder, to help you get an idea of what you think you would rather!

Liquid Foundation

I find that liquid foundation gives me more of a matte look, which I like especially when my skin is feeling a bit oily. It gives amazing coverage and fills lines and wrinkles helping them to look less noticeable. Liquid foundations could work for most skin types. You can easily find one that will work for your specific needs. There are so many different kinds of them such as ones that help your face stay matte, ones that help your face look dewy, and even some with SPF in it to provide protection for your face.

Pros
  • Excellent coverage
  • Keeps skin moisturized
  • Easier to apply and blend
Cons
  • Takes more time
  • Can get messy
  • May clog pores and cause acne

Powder Foundation

Powder Foundation has become my best friend recently, I have tried both mineral and pressed powder foundation and find that I get a lot more coverage when using a mineral foundation. It helps me get the look I want without the hassle and mess of liquid foundation. It takes patience as you have to apply layer after layer until you get the look desired but is well worth it when you see your skin looks flawless but also looks like you have no makeup on at all! I feel as though powder foundation would be best for oily skin types as it will help absorb and control your facial oils. Using it on dry skin can accentuate the dryness causing dry patches.

Pros
  • Provides a more natural look
  • Absorbs oil so helps your face stay matte
  • Can be reapplied throughout the day
  • Not as messy
Cons
  • Requires a brush which can be challenging for beginners
  • May settle into lines and wrinkles

All About Liquid Lipsticks

Lipsticks have been quite popular over the past 5,000 years. Women and even men use them to apply color, moisture, and also protection to the lips! The lipsticks most of us are used to are the simple cream stick held inside a plastic tube that you simply twist upwards and apply. A new product has come around the makeup world that may become your new favorite! They are called "Liquid Lipsticks". Tons of brands have been hopping on the bandwagon and creating these products which make it super hard for us makeup lovers not to buy at least one! Seeing the hype over the past few months, I decided to cave and buy a few to see if they were a love or a diss.

Tulle
Lumiere 2

Midi

I ordered three different liquid lipsticks from the brand Colour Pop which is a makeup brand that creates the most beautiful eye shadows and are actually very well known for their lip products! I bought the Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks in the shades Tulle, Midi, and Lumiere 2

I just cannot describe how much I love these lip products. I've always been one to love lipstick. I have always thought that some nice color on your lips can add so much to your appearance so I was very eager to try these and boy - I LOVE THEM. The "lip gloss style" of them is one of my favorite parts. They are so easy to just throw on and go with its' very nice applicator. The product just slides on your lips evenly and dries so fast that I didn't even have time to snap a picture before they dried! The first day I tested them out, I went a full 12 hour day which includes eating and drinking and did not have to reapply ONCE! Which is absolutely crazy if you understand how much you have to reapply regular lipstick throughout the day. I am just in awe with how fast I fell in love with these new Liquid Lipsticks. I will definitely be buying from different brands to see how they compare to these beauties. Colourpop also has a non-matte option called the "Ultra Satin" Liquid Lipsticks which I am eager to try as well!

P.S.
I apologize for missing an entire week. Easter time was very busy for me but I am back on track now! Thank you ♥

Eyebrow Threading

I was always one who'd rather waxing my brows over anything else. I recently started researching which technique is the better way to get those perfectly arched eyebrows and I found the winner - eyebrow threading!

In threading, a thin thread is doubled, then twisted. It is then rolled over areas of unwanted hair, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Unlike tweezing, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, threading can remove short lines of hair. This technique causes the hair not to grow back for weeks because you are pulling the hairs at the follicle. So if you are one that hates tweezing, this is the way to go!

I always heard that if you want a nice shape to your eyebrows, threading is the best option. While threading, it is very easy to create an arch rather than if you waxed. I decided to test this theory. I let my brows grow out for two weeks - it was very hard, but I succeeded. After two weeks, I went to a nearby threading studio and let them go to work! These were the results :

I was so impressed with the results. My eyebrows have such a beautiful shape that I have never had before. They are sparse in some areas but that is no problem because I am one to fill in my eyebrows on a daily basis! This is definitely a technique that I will continue using for the rest of my life! Bye bye waxing!

Things To Know Before Threading

  • Don't wear mascara! Your eyes are going to water like never before. Unless you want to walk out of the shop looking like a crying raccoon, I advise you not to wear any mascara.
  • Prepare for pain. It's not AS BAD as you hear, but definitely isn't painless. Don't let this make you nervous though. Once you see your eyebrows, you will forget about all of the pain.
  • Let the person doing your eyebrows know exactly what you want. If you want a nice arch, go ahead and tell them! If you want just a clean up, let them know!
  • For best results, let your eyebrows grow out for some time before going! The person doing them will have more to work with.

Beauty Blender VS. Real Techniques Sponge

I have been a very strong lover of the Beauty Blender for quite some time now. I would use it everyday to apply any cream product that I was putting on. It was better than any brush I owned and I never thought I would stop using it until I tried this Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

Now, first let me say that the two sponges are very similar. I have found that they apply makeup the same way and the outcome looks the same, but what drew me to the Real Techniques sponge was by far the price. The price of a Beauty Blender is around $20.00 while the Real Techniques sponge was $7.00 at ULTA. That's a $13.00 difference when you are basically buying the same product.

I have also come to love the shape of the Real Techniques sponge better than the Beauty Blender. The flat side of the Real Techniques sponge is perfect to get right underneath the eyes and around the nose. It also has a point at the end to get even more hard to reach places.

While I am going to say that I love the Beauty Blender, the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge is the way to go. For the quality of this sponge, the price is something you can't beat. I would highly recommend this to everyone out there who wears cream products everyday.

Morphe 35o Eyeshadow Palette

I've said back in earlier posts, that I can find any excuse to go out and buy new makeup. My love for it is not healthy. So when I saw that the Morphe 35o palette was selling out within an hour of being restocked, I had to get my hands on it somehow.

A couple of months ago, I saw that many youtubers, such as Jaclyn Hill, were raving about this Morphe palette. I didn't think much of it until I saw more and more people reviewing it and buying it that I just had to see what the excitement was about! I tried to order it earlier but failed twice because of the fact that it sells out so fast on the Morphe website. One day I was finally one of the lucky ones that got to the website early enough to order it!

I am being 100% honest when I say that this is already my favorite palette I own. I have only had it for a week and I have used it almost everyday. Although this is a warm-toned palette, there are so many color combinations that you can create. The shadows blend so easily and all of them compliment each other in their own unique ways.

The best part about this palette is the price. You get 35 eye shadows for only $22.99 + shipping. That is a crazy inexpensive price compared to Naked, Lorac, and especially Viseart palettes.

I haven't tried any other Morphe palettes so I cannot compare the rest of them to the 35o but I plan to do so in the future. If you are in need of a new palette, I HIGHLY recommend this one to you.

Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder

I have tried many face powders in the past two years of my makeup obsession. I have gone from Rimmel Stay Matte to NYX HD Studio Finishing powder to even Clinique Blended Face powder! The Clinique powder has been my favorite since I first started using it, but with it being a little on the high end of the money scale, I usually share one with my mom.

I have been on a search for that perfect face powder that will give me the look I am striving for. The poreless, creaseless, flawless skin that every girl wants to have! My grandma works in the makeup department at Macy's and her work friends told her about this face powder that they can't live with out. My grandma went out and picked one up for me and her, and can I just say that it is everything I ever wanted in a powder! The Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder is to die for. It is very inexpensive and you get more than what you pay for.

I know for sure you can pick up the Coty Powder at any Walmart or Walgreens, but that is all I know of at the moment. It retails for around $6.00 so you really can't do better than that. You get 65g of product in the container which lasts you FOREVER! The only downside of the product is that it has a very distinct and strong smell. Many would say it has a "grandma" smell, but I personally like it. Coty also has a fragrance free option if you do not like the smell.

This powder gives me the matte look I have always wanted. It helps my makeup stay literally all day and keeps it looking matte. You get the poreless, flawless finish that you want.

*DUPE ALERT*

As I said earlier, I have been using the Clinique Blended Face Powder for the past few months. These two resemble each other in so many ways that you have no choice but to just use the cheaper option! The only difference I have really noticed is that the Clinique powder may be milled a little bit finer than the Coty powder, but that doesn't affect the way they look on your skin. The clinique powder retails for $25.00 while the Coty powder is a good $19.00 cheaper. You also get about 2x more product in the Coty container (65g) than in the Clinique one (35g).

L'OREAL True Match Lumi foundation

Recently, I have noticed that the L'OREAL True Match Lumi foundation has become quite popular. Coming from a person that can find any excuse to buy a new make up product, I just HAD to go out and pick it up.

I can't say I'm impressed. I guess I had really high expectations for it and it didn't meet them. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying it was terrible, just not worth the hype in my opinion. It looks great the first hour, but as the day goes on the product clings to the dry spots of your face, which for me, is around my nose and forehead.

By the end of the day, I had red spots showing terribly and noticeable foundation clumps around my face. I love trying new foundations but for now, I'll stick to my all time favorite, Revlon Color Stay.
