Tips To Make Your Eyes Appear Bigger

A lot of the time when us make up lovers apply eye makeup, we don't realize that what we are doing is actually making our eyes appear visually smaller than they really are! I have a few quick and easy tips to avoid these mistakes and to make your eyes not only pop but look bigger at the same time.

Light Colored Eyeliner

A lot of the time when we apply eyeliner, we usually go for dark colors to make our eye colors pop a little bit more. What most of us don't know is that applying dark eyeliner can cause our eyes to appear visually smaller than they actually are!

A very quick and easy way to make our eyes pop is to apply nude/white eyeliner to the lower lash line/waterline of our eyes. It is that simple! You can definitely still apply your favorite dark eyeliner on your lid with the white eyeliner on bottom. Make sure you only apply a subtle amount of white eyeliner because if you apply too much, it can look a bit awkward!

Watch Your Eyeliner Technique

Another tip that can avoid the effect of smaller eyes, is to watch the way you apply your eyeliner. Rather than applying your eyeliner all the way across your eye, try starting the liner mid way across your lash line. This will leave the inner corner bare of liner causing the eyes to have a tapered vibe. If you don't like the way that looks, you can just taper out the eyeliner, starting thin at your inner corner and growing thicker as you go across the eye. But, don't go too thick!

Hightlighting Your Inner Corner

Applying a light color to the inner corner of your eye, whether it be shimmery or matte, can give you the illusion of a wider eye. It helps the eyes widen and separate giving the effect of a bigger, more prominent eye.

My Favorite Makeup Brushes : FACE

A lot of the time, the key to a perfect face is the tools that you use to apply your makeup. A simple brush can change the way your makeup looks dramatically. Here are my favorite face makeup brushes that I use on an everyday basis!

Foundation/Concealer

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

I was never one who liked applying foundation with a brush. Before I started using sponges, I always used my fingers. This sponge has been my holy grail for both applying foundation and for blending out my concealer! I use the same sponge for both products and it works perfectly.

Powder

Real Techniques Powder Brush

I love this brush for setting my entire face with powder. It gets the job done well.

Just A General Makeup Sponge

You can find these everywhere. I know Ulta has a lot in different colors for only around $5. I use this sponge to bake. I simply dip it into my powder until it has a generous amount of powder on it and apply to the areas where I would like to bake. It works perfect for me!

Contour/Bronzer

Clinque Blush Brush

I find that this brush is the perfect size to fit where the hollows of my cheeks are. I use this to get that perfect contour!

Ecotools Powder Brush

When I don't feel like contouring and just want a bronzed look, I will use this brush.

Blush

Real Techniques Blush Brush

I use this brush to apply all types of blush.

Highlighter

Real Techniques Setting Brush

This brush is absolutely perfect to apply highlighter in my opinion. It's all I use for highlighter.

DIY Nail Polish Organizer/Display

I'd like to think of myself as a really creative person. I always find myself in the dollar section of stores looking for things that I can use to create other useful items. I was recently at Party City with one of my good friends and it was like I entered into heaven when I reached the party-ware and serveware aisle. It was like I had an epiphany when I found the perfect items to create this Nail Polish Organizer!

I found these two Clear Plastic Egg Trays for only $1.49 and figured they would be perfect to place nail polishes in. Now, I have a lot of nail polish all tucked away into a little drawer. I have always needed something like this! I went home and found a plastic glass like the one shown that would work in place as a stand to connect the two egg trays together.

I then spray painted the two with a white spray paint. I thought the white would look awesome against all of the color polishes that would be displayed on it.

What I did next was hot glue the top of the glass to one of the egg trays upside down, and then hot glued the bottom of the glass onto the bottom of one of the egg trays. It was so simple to do.

I placed all of my favorite most-used nail polishes onto the indents of the organizer. I also put marbles onto the top egg tray where that little circle indention is to add a little bit of extra beauty to it. I'm really impressed with the way this organizer turned out. It looks like it was bought at the store to use specifically for nail polishes. I suppose you could also use this as a jewelry organizer! It would work perfect for that as well.
